About this subsite

This is the website of the former Film Australia, now part of Screen Australia.

Screen Australia is an Australian Government agency operating under the Screen Australia Act 2008 (Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts).

Screen Australia commenced operation on 1 July 2008, bringing together the functions of the Film Finance Corporation Australia (FFC) and Film Australia Limited, as well as most of the functions of the Australian Film Commission (AFC).

The former Film Australia was an Australian Government-owned company, whose mission was to create an audio-visual record of Australian life. In its 60 years it became one of the nation's leading producers of television documentaries and educational programs.

  • Digital Learning works with independent producers and new media developers to create content-rich educational resources suitable for primary, secondary, tertiary and lifelong learning across all Australian states and territories.
